LCS Company specializes in precision metal stampings of custom brackets and clamps. Advanced tooling and metal stamping capabilities allow us to create the custom bracketry and clamps to fit your unique application.

LCS uses compound and progressive tooling technologies to stamp and form metal brackets. Bracket features holding tolerance ranges of +/- 0.001″ to 0.010″ are normal with capabilities to hold +/- 0.0005″ when needed. Brackets are often made from steel, aluminum, stainless, copper, titanium, and other special alloys.

LCS manufactures U, Z, and L brackets as well as custom specialty brackets. Secondary processes such as degreasing, deburring, finishing, and plating are also available.

Procedures for making custom metal brackets

  • Die Cutting
  • Blanking
  • Piercing
  • Stamping
  • Forming
  • Deburring
  • Coating and Plating
  • Heat Treating

Die Cutting

Die cutting is a metal stamping technique used to cut complex shapes from various materials, including metals and plastics. This method is highly accurate and cost-effective because it produces parts with minimal waste.

The process involves a die, a tool containing cutting lines and shapes. The die is mounted in a press, and the metal or plastic material is fed into the die, which is then pressed to cut out the desired part.

Blanking

Blanking is the process of cutting a finished piece part from a strip or sheet of material. The finished piece is either a complete part or a slug/blank that will be cut or formed in a separate operation to produce a complete part.

Piercing

Often called perforating, Piercing is an operation that produces a cut hole in a part either before or after it has been blanked or formed.

Stamping

Stamping is an automated metal-forming process that produces parts from flat metal sheets. The process involves placing the sheet of material between two dies in a press and then using the press to form and blank the material into its desired shape.

This method is used for producing components from tooling, which provides an efficient and cost-effective way to make parts that require precision and accuracy.

Forming

Forming is the process of bending, extruding, or coining parts and their features in a precise way to alter its shape.
